Batweek - Special Tour

As twilight falls, we embark on an exciting discovery tour: Equipped with ultrasound detectors, we follow the secret hunters of the night: the bats. The portable detectors make the ultrasonic calls of the bats, which are inaudible to us, audible.

This way, we can experience their echolocation live: The animals emit short ultrasonic pulses and detect their prey, usually insects, with astonishing precision through the returning echo. They perform impressive flight maneuvers: lightning-fast changes of direction, dives, and turns in tight spaces to catch mosquitoes or beetles in mid-air. An experience for all senses: Mysterious, educational, and fascinating!

If it rains or storms too heavily, preventing any bats from hunting for insects that night, we unfortunately cannot carry out the night walks. The decision lies with the excursion leader. A voucher for the purchase price will be issued.
